Denver has known since she was a child that she would be a musician. Her love of music has not wavered since. She began playing guitar at age 13 under her father's instruction and began studying classical guitar at age 18.
At 18 she began her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU). There she studied under Charlie Moeser, David Toussaint, and John Patykula. In 2012 Tommy Rodriguez built a cedar top guitar for her which she continues to play. VCU gave Denver many opportunities such as, master classes, collaborations and performance opportunities. Denver gave her junior recital in 2012, and her senior recital in April of 2013. Denver graduated with her B.M. in Music Performance from VCU in May of 2013.
During her studies at VCU Denver was a dedicated student and an active musician in the Richmond area. She performed for years with Flamenco-inspired ensemble, Sueños Gitanos. She has been asked to play in the VCU Flamenco Festival five times, has been a soloist with the VCU Community Ensemble and asked to give an Alumni Recital in September of 2014. She has also worked numerous times with the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Denver has also performed at many local venues, restaurants, and event/wedding venues.
In addition to a vibrant performing career, Denver has taught for many years, privately and as the guitar ensemble instructor at St. Catherine's school in Richmond. She also taught for many years at Key Signatures, also located in Richmond.
Currently, Denver is pursuing her Master's of Performance degree at Shenandoah University with Dr. Julian Gray.
Denver believes strongly in playing music with passion and enjoyment and connecting with her listeners.
